Johan Cruyff: The legacy lives on

We were deeply saddened by the news of Johan Cruyff passing yesterday (24 March 2016).

Not just a footballing legend, Johan Cruyff used his sporting skills to transform the lives of youngsters across the world by founding Cruyff Foundation in 1997.

Each week the charity allows thousands of children to be more active through sport, play and exercise on ‘Cruyff Courts’. Players of People’s Postcode Lottery have been supporting the Cryuff Foundation since 2015 and have awarded the charity with £375,000 in funding. This year, funding will go towards the creation of more Cruyff Courts and Special Courts in Great Britain.

The Foundation and Cruyff Courts will honour his memory through the legacy of sport. Johan Cruyff didn’t only make ‘the game’ more beautiful he made the world more beautiful too.
