JONATHAN HUGHES, CHAIR
Jonathan Hughes is CEO of the Scottish Wildlife Trust, Scotland’s leading environmental charity. Before being appointed Chief Executive, Jonathan was the Trust’s Director of Conservation and Deputy CEO. Jonathan is also an elected global Councillor of the International Union IUCN) for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the world’s oldest and largest conservation organisation. Other positions held by Jonathan include board member of the government agency Architecture and Design Scotland and scientific advisor to the European Outdoor Conservation Association. In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys playing tennis and football, and most of all, table football. He is also a knowledgeable field naturalist.
Ross is the Director of Fundraising and Communications at Missing People and has responsibility for Missing People's income and awareness across a wide range of fundraising activities. Celebrating 10 years at Missing People, Ross leads a hugely successful team whose awards include: Grand Prix, non-FTSE 100 companies at CorpComms Awards alongside finalist nominations for Best Annual Review and Use of Digital at ThirdSector Awards. Ross is a Trustee of the Postcode Heroes Trust and a member of the FRSB Advisory Board for small-medium charities.
Ian is Head of Exhibitions and Events at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE). Before he joined RBGE Ian trained as an ecologist and worked in forest research and is a former Director of Reforesting Scotland and carries out regular consultancy work in UK and overseas.His interests are in education, conservation and the uses of plants and he has published widely on all three. He has had various roles at RBGE and he currently heads the exhibitions and events team with responsibility for an ambitious public programme that includes a contemporary art gallery, live science shows and the edible garden project.
